Charles Ayers Obituary
Charles L. “Pete” Ayers passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Country Gardens in Butler. A graveside memorial service for Mr. Ayers, 86, of Reynolds will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Crowell United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive visitors in the Crowell Community Center at 1:00 PM.
He was a member of Reynolds United Methodist Church, a chartered member and past president of the Kiwanis Club of Taylor County, on the original Board of Beechwood School and a Past President of Flint Area Consolidated Housing Authority. Pete was an Independent Businessman and a real estate agent. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mary Wainwright Ayers and parents Thomas Greer and Pauline Reed Ayers.
Survivors include one son, Eddie Ayers (Penny) of Blue Ridge, GA; one daughter, Mary Nell Johnston (Wayne) of Augusta, GA; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren
