Ruby Jean (Joiner) Theus

Graveside services for Ruby Jean (Joiner) Theus will be at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Butler Georgia at 11 am on Thursday, August 23, 2018 with the Rev. Jimmy Chapman officiating.  Ruby, (78), born March 15, 1940, passed away on August 19, 2018. 

Ruby was born in Butler Georgia to the late Nathaniel Van Buren Joiner and Mildred Louise (Carpenter) Joiner.  She had one deceased sister - Ruby Faye (Joiner) (Posey) Poole.

Ruby is survived by her husband of 60 years, John Theus, her three children/grandchildren/great grandchildren.  Mike Theus (Butler), Barbara/Jim Marcoux (Griffin), Steve/Samantha Theus (St. Simons Island) and her grandchildren Thomas Melvin (Griffin), John Melvin (Augusta), Knox Theus (Statesboro), Isabella Theus (St. Simons Island) and Step Grandchildren Zachary/(Shaina) Marcoux (Dunwoody), Cassie/(Ben) Vaughan (Griffin) with Malachi/(Lauressa) Marcoux, Patrick Marcoux and MacKenzie/(Lainey) Marcoux all of Griffin.  As well as 11 great grandchildren, Rhiley, Nolan, Nate, Gannon, Ella, Aura, Harrison, Fallyn, Daisy, Melina and Fiona.

She is survived by her sister, Linda (Joiner)/Stan Poole (Ideal) and one brother/sister in law, Lamar/Anne Theus (Butler) and 13 nieces/13 nephews.

Ruby retired from Robins AFB GA as an Inventory Management Specialist in November 1990 with 30 years of civil services.  Thinking her working days were over; however, jobs kept coming her way.

Her career also took her to serve in the following occupations: Chipman Union - Potterville GA, Secretary, Taylor County Tax Office - Butler GA, Clerk,  Farm Bureau  Insurance - Oglethorpe GA, Clerk,  Department of Transportation (DOT) - Butler GA, Secretary,  Department of Transportation (DOT) - Thomaston GA, Personnel Clerk, Bethel Congregational Methodist Church - Butler GA, Secretary.
