Wanda “Lil Mama” Cole, 68, of Butler passed away on Friday, April 27, 2017 at her home. A private family service will be held at a later date.
“Lil Mama” was greatly loved by all who knew her and her family and friends were some of her greatest attributes of her life. She graduated from East Tennessee State University as a Registered Nurse. After retirement, her love for people and the joy of helping others never ceased. She was a selfless woman who always kept others needs first and foremost in her deeds, thoughts, and actions. She never expected anything in return. She loved and took great pride in her grand “babies”, as well as her dogs, Tater and Peanut. She enjoyed Alabama football and traveling. Her love and zest for life was always readily apparent and her sense of humor carried her through some tough times. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Though we know she is happy to be with her loving husband of 39 years again and meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Mrs. Cole has lived in Taylor County since 1997.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Frasier White and Frances Juanita Dixon White; husband, Mac W. “Red” Cole, Sr.; son, Mark Alan Cole; infant sister, Terry Lee White.

Cole, Jr., (Cheri) of Bremen, Lee Harris (Lajuan) of Butler, Kelli Lowe (Leroy) of Butler and Amy Johnson (Scott) of Perry; grandchildren, Ashley Lane (Dustin), Nikki McCard (Pyron), Cameron Ward, Brittany Lowe, Dyllan Johnson, Kaleigh Harris, Leroy Lowe, III, Austin Varnum, Carlie Varnum, Michael Johnson, Cody Harris, Shawn Johnson and Ashtyn Varnum; great grandchildren, Trinity Powell, Amelia Powell, Christopher Lane and Baylee McCard.
