Angus Burrell Jones, born July 11, 1939, passed away on December 2, 2025 at the age of 86. Burrell proudly served four years in the Army as part of the Military Police.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Sanders; father, Winston Dean Jones; son, Bobby Lee Jones; and sisters, Evelyn Lowery, Joann McIntosh, and Sherry Jones.
Burrell is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Norma Jones; sons, Burrell Dean Jones (Janina) and Matthew Jones (Fatima), both of Houston, Texas; granddaughter, Bailey Elizabeth Hanna; great-grandson, Bowie Tyler Hanna; and several nieces and nephews.
He will be fondly remembered for his love of Braves baseball, Falcons football, the rodeo, and the Grand Ole Opry. Burrell cherished meeting friends, sharing stories, and telling jokes. He was also known for signing a record contract with Columbia Records.
Burrell’s warmth, humor, and passion for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Friday at 2:00 pm at Junction City Baptist Church.
