Ernestine (Davis) Kirksey

Frances Ernestine Davis Kirksey, age 88, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025. She was born on January 6, 1937.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Butler, Georgia. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:30 until 1:30 at McLeighton Funeral Service.

Ernestine will be remembered for her many years of service at Montgomery Hospital, her work as a paraprofessional, and her employment with Bonanza Drilling and Well, as well as several other jobs.  She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, where she grew up.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Frances Davis; her husband of many years, Gordon Eugene Kirksey; and her sister, Jeraldine Cooper.

She is survived by two sisters, Janice Brewer and Kay Hambrick; five nieces and eight nephews; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. Her niece, Amy Davis, served as her devoted and loving caregiver.
