Funeral services for Olive Fleurette Maddox Joyner, 86, of Crawford County will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Evangelistic House of Prayer, with Pastor Ronnie Hollis and Pastor Charles Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in Roberta City Cemetery. Mrs. Fleurette gained her wings on April 9, 2021 at her residence.
She was a member of Evangelistic House of Prayer. For many years she served as the church pianist. She taught elementary school and special education for 30 years, in Bibb, Monroe and Crawford Counties. Mrs. Fleurette also volunteered at The Roberta Healthcare Ministry and Macon Rescue Mission.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one stepson, William W. Weaver Jr; and one brother, Dr. Charles Deaton Maddox.
Survivors include her husband, William H. Joyner of Crawford County; one stepson, William Rodney Joyner of Crawford County; one stepdaughter, Kimberly Dawn Brewer (Larry) of Crawford County; one brother, Billy Durand Maddox (Alice) of Sanford, NC; one sister, Cecile Pozene Menhinick (Edward) of Charlotte, NC; one step granddaughter, Kirsten Joyner Hood (Joey) of Bolingbroke GA; one step great granddaughter, McKenzie Hood; several nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces also survive.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church.
