Richard Heath Allen, Sr.

Graveside services for Richard Heath Allen, Sr., 73, of Butler will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at 11:00 am at Butler Memorial Cemetery.  Mr. Allen passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Piedmont Healthcare in Columbus.  He was a member of the Butler United Methodist Church.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Hayward Edwin Allen, Sr. and Jessie Heath Allen; two sisters, Barbara Broach and Emily Montgomery; and two brothers-in-law, Wilkes Broach and Harry Hicks.

 He is survived by his wife, Maxine Lawhorn Allen of Butler; one son, Richard Heath Allen, Jr. (Ashleigh) of Valdosta; one daughter, Jennifer Allen Edwards (Donald) of Smyrna; two brothers, Archie Eugene Allen (Elsie) of Butler and Edwin Allen (Betty) of Butler; one sister, Mary Ellen Hicks of Reynolds; one brother-in-law, Billy Montgomery of Perry; four grandchildren, Rustin Allen Edwards, Laurel Heath Edwards, Rhett Heath Allen and Reese Jesslyn Allen; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: John B. Amos Cancer Center, 1931 5th Avenue, Columbus, GA  31904 or Butler United Methodist Church, PO Box 217, Butler, GA  31006.
