Funeral services for Roy A. Lewis, Sr. 90, of Roberta will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021, at 12:00 pm at Roberta Evangelical Church. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the service hour. Burial will follow in Roberta City Cemetery. Mr. Lewis passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at his home. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Congregational Christian Church. In his earlier years he was a volunteer for the Boy Scouts. He was a volunteer for the Crawford County Fire Department and was retired from Robins Air Force Base. He was always willing to help others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, B.L. and Florene Bloodworth Lewis; his wife, Mattie Joyce Teal Lewis; a granddaughter, Alicia Westberry; and a brother, Carlton Lewis.
Survivors include three sons, Roy Lewis, Jr. (Teresa) of Byron, Jimmy Lewis and Jeff Lewis of Lizella; three daughters, Debra Lewis Westberry (George) of Roberta, Patience Lewis Claeys (Rick) of Musella and Pamela Lewis Busbee (Havis) Roberta; one brother, Clarence Lewis of Roberta; four sisters, Alma Hudson of Thomaston, Christine Caison of Warner Robins, Hazel Mead of Lyons and Sally McRorie of Roberta; twelve grandchildren, Taylor, Josh (Jill), Krista (Danny), Jacob, Alison, Dillon, Celine (Landry), Caitlin, Samantha (Josh), Jared (Winter) and Ethan; twelve great-grandchildren, Hannah, Hayden, Harley, Brentyn, Avry, Amelia, Abigail, Ashtyn, Andi Grace, Parker, Sutton and Tate; several nieces and nephews also survive.
