After Bill graduated from Crawford County Comprehensive High School, he went to work for Blue Bird Body Company for 18 years. His last employment was with Innsbruck Resort and Golf Club in Helen, GA, for 9 years. Due to health issues, he retired and returned to live in his home county.
Bill was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and his nephew, Evan Wood. He was a great story and yarn teller and could make a person feel each nuance of his story and laugh until they cried. Many of his tales were formed from his own experiences as a youth and young man.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, Billy J. Lacey, and grandparents, Joe and Mildred Parker and Joe and Delia Lacey. He is survived by his mother, Joy Parker Lacey, sisters, Jennie Lee Lacey, and DeEllen Lacey Wood (Matthew), nephews, Evan and Aaron Wood and niece, Makenna Wood. Also, his special friend, Christy Cronic of Cleveland and his canine buddy, Blue.
